Livestock emits more greenhouse gas emissions than all transportation combined. However, the role of overconsumption of meat is systematically ignored. Simple solutions exist but are against economic interests. Facing inertia of government, citizens, personalities and organizations are mobilizing. The overconsumption of meat is among other responsible for global warming, deforestation, land degradation and water pollution. The global meat production increased fivefold between 1950 and 2000. The aquaculture increased from 1 million tons in 1950 to 52 million tonnes in 2006. During Copenhagen summit, French personalities strike the meat, you can do it also and sign the petition.
