The Berkeley Shambhala Meditation Center is part of an international community of urban meditation and rural retreat centers founded by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, and currently headed by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche.
The Berkeley Shambhala Meditation Center is one of the oldest Shambhala centers in the world. The Center has the good fortune of being supported by many senior students who studied with Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche in person. The BSC is a labor of love that started in a garage and moved to the Oddfellows building over thirty years ago.
Located in the Oddfellows building on 2288 Fulton street, the Berkeley center is one of the oldest Shambhala centers in the mandala. For over 30 years The Berkeley Shambhala Meditation Center has offered the ground of Shambhala Dharma to the bay area.
There are a wide range of programs, classes, and ongoing practice offered at the Berkeley center. The Berkeley Shambhala Meditation Center feature open meditation practice every week night at 7:00 PM, an open house every Sunday morning at 9:00 AM, as well as free meditation instruction.
