United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s World Heritage committee added 21 new sites to the World Heritage’s long list, following its 34th session which was being held in Brasilia from July 25 to Aug 3.
Among the newly protected properties, there are some of buddhism’s central places such as Sri Lanka’s central highlands, Thang Long Hanoi imperial city, and Korea’s clan villages Hahoe and Yangdong…
This list is mainly aimed at preserving these exceptionally rich properties. It gives them a worldwide cultural value and could have an important economical impact on the interested countries, notably through tourism.
