Sri Lanka — Vesak religious activities at Naval Headquarters

In commemoration of three most significant events of the life of Lord Budda,the Birth, the Enlightenment and the attainment of Parinibbana on Wesak full moon Poya Day, religious activities were conducted under the patronage of Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy Vice Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe at Naval Headquarters on 25th May 2010.

Chief of Staff and President of the Buddhist Association of Sri Lanka Navy Rear Admiral Somathilaka Dissanayake, Senior officers and the other officers of the Western Naval Area and family members of the Naval personnel participated in these religious observances.

The venerable Thero who preached was offered with a Atapirikara by Commander of the Navy and all the war heroes who sacrificed their lives for motherland were remembered by invoking with religious blessings.
