Tibetan Buddhist relics recovered from Qinghai quake

A lama from the Buddhist Theological Institute walks by Buddha statues recovered from the ruins of the Trangu Monastery in Gyegu Township, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous County, northwest China’s Qinghai Province.

About 14,000 pieces of Tibetan Buddhist relics have been recovered from the ruins of the monastery since the strong quake hit the area on April 14, 2010.

The photo taken on May 7, 2010, shows Buddha statues recovered from the ruins of the Trangu Monastery in Gyegu Township, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous County, northwest China’s Qinghai Province.
