In Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA has made arrangements to to perform an Ata Visi Buddha Puja, a special offering to the twenty eight previous Buddhas at the temple premises on Saturday, May 15, 2010.
The Ata Visi Buddha Puja is a unique offering to show gratitude and respect to the previous 28 Buddhas before Gothama Buddha. The ritual is expected to bring manifold of blessings, including good health, longevity, success, and prosperity to the participants.
The resident monks of the Temple will chant the Ata Visi Pirith Suthra to invoke blessings on the laymen.
The organizers of the event call on devotees and participants to sponsor a Buddha of the past from the following list to make the event a success.
The past Buddhas are: Thanhankara, Medankara, Saranankara, Deepankara, Kondanna, Mangala, Sumana, Rewatha, Sobhitha, Anomadassi, Paduma, Narada, Padumuttara, Sumeda, Sujatha, Piyadassi, Attadassi, Dhammadassi, Siddhatha, Tissa, Pussa,Vipassi, Sikkhi, Vessabhu, Kakusanda, Konagama, Kassapa, Gothama.
