Exhibition of statues of bouddhas at Xi’an (China)

An exhibition of statues of Buddha will opens its doors the May 18th at the Beilin Xi’an’s Museum, capital of the province of Shaanxi.

The exhibition regroups 151 statues dating from the Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534) to the Song Dynasty (960-1127).

Many of them are revealed to the public for the first time, like the statue of Maitreya Buddha sitting with legs crossed, whose facial expression is more serious than most of other statues Maitreya.
