Shingon buddhism is a tantra tradition transmitted from India, to China that received Kukaï (Kobo Daishi) in 804. This branch of buddhism belongs to the big “Mahayana” vehicle and stands for tantra in Japan, Vajrayana. There is a total of 12000 Shingon temples in Japan for almost 14 millions of practisings.
