Bon Tradition
Ligmincha Institute, a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization, was founded in 1992 by Geshe Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche in order to preserve the ancient teachings, transmissions and practices of the Bon Buddhist tradition,the indigenous religion of Tibet. Today, Bon remains a living tradition, and source of timeless wisdom and knowledge relevant and applicable to our modern Western lives. Ligmincha additionally hopes to preserve and further develop the indigenous culture of Tibet, both among Tibetans living in exile and among interested Westerners.
Geshe Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche
Geshe Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche, founder and spiritual director of Ligmincha Institute, is an acclaimed author as well as a highly respected and beloved teacher to students throughout the United States, Mexico and Europe. Fluent in English, Tenzin Rinpoche is renowned for his depth of wisdom; his clear, engaging teaching style; and his ability to make the ancient Tibetan teachings highly accessible and relevant to the lives of Westerners.
