Founded in 1977, Manchester Buddhist Centre has taught the essential principles of meditation and Buddhism to thousands of Mancunians. In July 1996, they moved from Chorlton to Turner Street. Once a derelict Victorian warehouse, it is now a place of simplicity and beauty.
Manchester Buddhist Centre has been teaching Buddhism and meditation in Manchester since 1977. Meditation and Buddhism courses run all year in the evening and in the day time. On the second floor is Bodywise Natural Health Centre, meeting rooms for hire and our award winning Earth Cafe is situated in the basement.
Manchester Buddhist Centre is bringing the ancient Buddhist tradition alive in a modern world as part of the Friends of the Western Buddhist Order (FWBO), an international movement founded by an Englishman, Sangharakshita.
You can attend a meditation or Buddhism course, attend a Living Well course at Breathworks, eat at Earth Cafe, hold a meeting, attend a yoga class or have an alternative therapy at Bodywise Natural Health Centre, relax at a well-being day for your team or simply meditate in one of their beautiful meditation halls.
