For many people the 14th Dalai Lama is a role model and an important point of identification. He stands for peace and humanity in a manner as good as unparalleled today. To mark His Holiness‘ visit to Frankfurt, the “Artists for Dalai Lama” initiative was launched in May 2009: as a presentation and exhibition of international artists for the Dalai Lama and as a sign and universal message of peace, sympathy and humanity.

For their own key visual language, the “Artists for Dalai Lama” (and there were roughly 20 of them) developed a multi-faceted range of paintings, sculptures and installations which can be interpreted as an artistic dialog with the Dalai Lama himself. The previews in Cologne (opening), Offenbach / Main (Preview 2.0) and the highlight in Frankfurt attracted several hundred visitors.
True to their motto “Everywhere, you see” the United Creators art consultants took a digital version of the “Artists for Dalai Lama” exhibition to New York: On two impressively large LED screens in downtown Manhattan – in the Times Square Building, the former New York Times‘ headquarters (43rd Street, Times Square) – New Yorkers were given the opportunity to take part in the Frankfurt-based exhibition in real time.
