Avalokiteshvara - The Spiritual Emanation of Amitabha
Amitabha’s color is red. He is known as the Buddha of discriminating wisdom as well as the Buddha of infinite light. His bodhisattva or spiritual emanation is Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva of compassion or he who looks on the universe with the eyes of compassion.
The musicality of being holds both unending joy and infinite sorrowIt is the delicate touch of longing for the infiniteIt is the tears of pain in the eyes of the worshiperIt is the sacrifice, at last rewardedWith a crown of roses, or thornsIt holds the mystery of all beings who strive without knowledgeThe infinite cycles of meaningless painThe cares and woes of a thousand livesCan one look at them, and listen without pity?I touch them, I call them unto meThose of little faith, and of greatThose who cry forever and those that laugh hystericallyThe poor, the maimed, the lacking, the unhappyThe many parts each person must playI call them unto me, and I say:Take all, take all, take everything and moreYour unhappiness is unbounded, take from meAnd be at peace. They scream, they cry, their tears are unendingThe many forms of misery which all beings are heir toHaunt me in the night. There are beings of joy, of wonder, of enjoymentThere are sensual heavens, and pleasure-filled paradisesYet where may those who suffer and grieve goThose for whom the illusion of separatenessIs the truest reality?Ropes and coils of evil deceptionsLocks and bars and endless lonelinessBefore joy comes sorrow, before knowledge, painBefore the thrill of enlightenmentAm I, who aid the woundedI share their grief, I hold them in my armsI shed my tears, that they may realize they are not aloneIn the vast depths of the infinite universeThere is one who cares.
