The Adi-Buddha of Diamond-light
Vajrasattva is the Buddha of diamond-wisdom, and is the chief Buddha of the five Dhyani Buddhas.
The musicality of being is the sound of ice being shattered by lightningThe diamond prison of the rational mindBurst by the power of TruthThe iron bars of selfhoodCracked by the Infinite MindI am both creative and destructive, compassionate and ruthlessI create the rainbow relationships of the BuddhasThe interactions of their light and shadeI destroy illusion with the power of TruthAnd kill the sense of the separate selfI am compassionate towards those that strive for perfectionAnd I aid them in the casting off of desiresI am ruthless towards the evil, the clinging, and the desperateFor only the pure may approach meI hold the reins of creation in my handsThe first light of the Void and its wave of divine colorsI hold and store them, refract them within my crystalThe prisms of cut-glass within my symbolic watersMy shakti is Vajrabodhi Dakini, the diamond wisdom of the VoidShe is the channel by which my energies of creation take formShe is the vessel which holds the light, the diamond which surrounds meWhose true form is the crystal vajraMy music is ice and snow, wind and waterThe victorious shout of the ascetic as he transcends the wrathful aspectsThe moan of the tantrika as he is overcome by brillianceThe exploding dynamite of a man escaping from prisonThe glorious silence when the chains of attachment to light have been left behindTo the seeker I say:The Buddhas of the Vajrayana are powerful, and one must be pureNot only to approach and encounter themBut in order to escape once you have done soEach has beings who live for him aloneAnd may never leave to travel higherFor they cling to the Buddha and cannot give up his lightDo not love beauty and do not clingOr the rich rosy light will wind you a crimson shroudDo not love power or striving, and do not conquer othersOr the emerald sword will spear you to the groundDo not love sensual harmonies and the swaying of natureOr the golden rows of grain will hide the skyDo not love the icy purity of detachment and the isolation of spaceOr the cold blue surfaces of the mind will prevent you from freedomFollow the path of peace and tranquilityRenounce all attachmentsAnd strive for Truth and Freedom aloneFor the most high beings may yet act through personalityThe light of the god is not yet freeThe concept of enlightenment must yet be rejectedFor the experience of freedom to dawn.
